Xiaomi MIUI has excelled in the budget and mid-range segments with its sub-brands, Mi, Redmi, and Poco, offering impressive hardware at affordable prices. However, great hardware doesn’t mean much if the software experience falls short.

As you may know, all Xiaomi devices run on MIUI, which is infamous for its bloatware and ads within the user interface.

While the MIUI 11 update addressed many of the issues, there is still a significant amount of preloaded bloatware that comes with Xiaomi devices. These apps often cannot be disabled or uninstalled directly. However, there is a workaround that can help you remove the bloatware from MIUI without the need for root access or unlocking the bootloader.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to clean up your Xiaomi phone and remove unnecessary apps, improving your device’s performance and freeing up storage space.

What is bloatware on Xiaomi devices?

Bloatware refers to pre-installed apps and services that come with smartphones, typically provided by the manufacturer or third-party developers. These apps are often unnecessary for the user and cannot be uninstalled without root access.

Xiaomi devices, like many others, come with a significant amount of bloatware that cannot be easily removed or disabled through standard settings. While some of these apps may be useful to certain users, many can take up valuable storage space and affect device performance.

Fortunately, there are a few methods that can help you remove or disable these MIUI bloatware apps without needing to root your phone. Here’s how you can do it on any Xiaomi device.

Remove MIUI bloatware in Xiaomi device without root

Before proceeding, it’s crucial to only remove bloatware or MIUI apps that you no longer need. Removing essential MIUI or system apps may cause your phone to malfunction. If you experience any issues with your device after removing an app, you can always reinstall the app from the Google Play Store or Xiaomi App Store.

Proceed with caution and ensure you only disable or remove apps that are non-essential to your phone’s core functions.
